I mentioned on Instagram not too long ago that I've been trying to ditch my old skincare routine for a more natural option, and I'm so grateful to my old college roomie that came to my rescue to make this possible!
I don't know about you guys, but I feel 'tricked' by a lot of products/brands out in the world right now. (Seems a little cheesy/dramatic I know). I've never been the one to read ingredients or check labels, (so, it's my own dang fault), but I recently downloaded the app 'Think Dirty' and holy cow. The things that live on my counter... are.. terrifying. The scale that determines the fate of these products goes from 0-10, 0 being green in color, which then fades to yellow and then to red. My terror comes from finding out that half my skincare is in the red. Which shocked me, because this brand was supposed to be 'natural'. I know I have a lot of work left to do on this home front, but I'm thankful for this first step + wake up call.
So what's a girl to do once she finds out ALL THE THINGS. This part is actually pretty easy.... Plantae. This newly launched site, (which was made by my college roommate Kailie), is dedicated to hosting 'hundreds of cruelty free, non toxic and vegan beauty products.' Insert the praying emoji hands, here. She sent me a great kit from pai, which scored green with all it's products, and I could not be happier with the results! Knowing that there's a website out there, dedicating it's time to find the most trusted products, puts me so much more as ease. Not to mention, how easy it is to do online shopping that's actually GOOD for you. (AND.. it ships through Amazon. So you know you'll get it quick... #Blessed).
What about you guys? What are some of your favorite natural brands? I'm in desperate need of finding a good natural foundation, and any/all recommendations are welcome!
We're in this together, and baby steps are still steps! Here's to a cleaner, healthier, happier version of you.
